Troisdorf. The 19th Karate world championships from November 13th to 16th, 2008 in Tokyo were held on Tatami mats of the company Trocellen GmbH headquartered in Troisdorf.

The bicoloured Karate Tatami mat is approved by the World Karate Federation. The puzzle system allows the building of even and jointless surfaces – independent from the size. The mat shows high impact absorption properties and ensures the required skid resistance of the competition area. The feedback of the athletes and technicians in Tokyo was very positive as the Trocellen Tatami mats with its anti-slip but still soft surface combine perfect hold and comfort.

The Karate world cup is very important, especially as Karate is no Olympic discipline. The high number of athletes from more than 100 countries and the presence of high-ranking politicians and officials of the karate sport emphasize the importance of this event.
